Gynecologic oncologist Dwight D. Im, M.D., is Director for
The Gynecologic Oncology Center at Mercy Medical Center. A graduate of
Princeton University, Dr. Im completed his residency at Johns
Hopkins Hospital.
He has completed specialized training in robotic surgery and is considered a leader in the specialty. Dr. Im is Board Certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Im's current academic appointments include Clinical Assistant Professor in the
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He previously served as an Instructor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, as well as Assistant Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Johns Hopkins University
for a combined 16 years.
Dr. Im has made numerous professional presentations and lectures on a variety of conditions concerning the female reproductive tract. In addition to his presentations, Dr. Im is a noted author of peer-reviewed medical journals and book chapters that reach a national audience.
Dr. Im is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is a member of the following professional societies: The Johns Hopkins Medical and Surgical Association, Mid-Atlantic Gynecologic Oncology Society, the American Medical Association and the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Women's Imaging and as a reviewer for Gynecologic Oncology and for Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Im was named by Baltimore Magazine a "Top Doctor" in the Gynecologic Oncology specialty. Also, as part of the national Patients' Choice recognition program, he was voted as a "Compassionate Doctor" award-winner, on various notable websites including vitals.com.
