BACKGROUND: Holding degrees in medicine and surgery, Dr. Rushovich is a a graduate of the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.

He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Prior to joining Mercy, Dr. Rushovich was involved in model clinical research at Bay West Endocrinology Associates on North Charles Street in Baltimore. He was Medical Director of the Diabetes Program at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan, a 350-bed regional medical center. He also served as Medical Director and Chair of TIPDON, the Tip of Michigan Diabetes Outreach Network, which covered 28 counties.

MISCELLANEOUS: Dr. Rushovich has numerous medical publications to his credit. He was recognized with the Individual National Research Service Award by the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases for his research.
