FIELD: Gastroenterology
POSITION/TITLE: Chief of Gastroenterology at
Mercy (since 1979)
BACKGROUND: Dr. Posner is a graduate of the
University of Maryland School of Medicine and was a Fellow in
Gastroenterology at the University as well. He holds certifications
from the American Board of Internal Medicine and in the Subspecialty
of Gastroenterology. Fellow of the American College of Physician,
he holds membership in the American Gastroenterological Society,
the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American
Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the Baltimore City
Medical Society, and other medical-related associations.
MISCELLANEOUS: In terms of teaching posts, Dr.
Posner has served in a teaching capacity for the past 20 years,
G.I. Division, University of Maryland and Baltimore V.A. Hospital,
and as Attending Physician at Mercy Medical Center, teaching residents
in medicine and surgery. He received the Outstanding Physician-Teacher
Award for his efforts in 1982. He has authored numerous abstracts
and publications in his field.
