POSITION/TITLE: Director, The Lung Center at Mercy and Chief, Division of Pulmonary Medicine

BACKGROUND: Dr. Polito earned his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 1989. After serving as Senior Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at the NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital, Dr. Polito trained as a Fellow in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

MISCELLANEOUS: Prior to joining Mercy in 2005, Dr. Polito was with the Johns Hopkins Asthma and Allergy Center. He served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and remains on the Hopkins faculty.

Dr. Polito has published widely and lectured extensively on both a national and international level. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Thoracic Society and currently serves as the Maryland Governor for the the American College of Chest Physicians.

He sees patients in The Lung Center at Mercy, located on the 4th floor of the Tower Building at 301 St. Paul Place in downtown Baltimore.
