BACKGROUND: Dr. Jeng, associate of world renowned foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Mark Myerson, is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. A cum laude graduate of Columbia University, he received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1993. Prior to joining Mercy, Dr. Jeng practiced as an orthopedic surgeon in The Orthopedic Group, a five member private practice, in Pittsburgh, PA.

MISCELLANEOUS: Dr. Jeng completed his residency in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and his Foot and Ankle Fellowship with Roger A. Mann, M.D., Director of the Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Oakland, California.

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.

He has numerous medical publications to his credit on such topics as managing foot and ankle fractures in diabetes and femur fractures in children, as well as total ankle transplant, minimally invasive foot and ankle reconstruction, rheumatoid arthritis of the foot, detection if metallic implants in the foot and ankle, and minimally invasive surgery for heel bone fractures.

He has conducted clinical research at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health; the Department of Biology at Columbia University, New York; the Orthopaedic Research Unit at the National Institutes of Health, and at Johns Hopkins. He has received numerous fellowships and grants for his research.
