BACKGROUND: Dr. Chen is board certified in Internal
Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care and Geriatric Medicine.
Former Medical Director of Respiratory Therapy and Chief of Pulmonary
Disease at Church Hospital in Baltimore, Dr. Chen joined Mercy
Medical Center in 2000. Dr. Chen has more than 30 years experience
in the practice of medicine. He earned his medical degree from
the National Taiwan University School of Medicine in 1969 and
completed his residency at Mount Sinai Hospital Service in New
York City. He was a Pulmonary Fellow at the University of Maryland
Hospital in Baltimore.
MISCELLANEOUS: Dr. Chen is a member of the Maryland
Thoracic Society, the American Thoracic Society, the Baltimore
City Medical Society and is a Fellow of the American College of
Chest Physicians. He evaluated and worked with medical students
from Johns Hopkins Hospital in the late 1970s. He is a native
of Taiwan, China.
