POSITION/TITLE: Program Manager for Cancer Care at the Center for Restorative Therapies at Weinberg

BACKGROUND: Ms. McBeth is currently Program Manager for Cancer Care at The Center for Restorative Therapies at Weinberg. Earning her masters in physical therapy from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA, Maureen joined Mercy in 2005 where she helped establish Mercy’s reputation as the leader in early intervention treatment for lymphedema. She previously worked at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where she initially became a certified lymphedema therapist in 2004, then became a LANA certified lymphedema therapist in 2006. Maureen has presented at the National Lymphedema Network International Conference and has numerous presentations to her credit. She is the primary investigator for a research data base utilizing bio-impedance spectroscopy for the early detection of lymphedema and is part of other research initiatives here at Mercy Medical Center. She regularly participates in educational and advocacy efforts to support the understanding of lymphedema, and assists local patient support groups with lymphedema risk-reduction practices. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the women's health and oncology sections, and is a member of the National Lymphedema Network.

The Center for Restorative Therapies at Weinberg offers specialized outpatient occupational and physical therapy services for cancer care, lymphedema, and women's health/pelvic floor initiatives. The center offers early intervention services for lymphedema prevention, treatment of all types of lymphedema, cancer related functional difficulties and pain management along with a full range of services women’s health and pelvic dysfunction - including urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, constipation and other pain related issues. Our therapists work closely with doctors here at Mercy or outside institutions to provide cutting edge therapy services tailored to your individual needs. All sessions are one-on-one sessions with private treatment rooms.

MISCELLANEOUS: Maureen travels to South America every year for a medical mission that helps with the education of therapist and treatment of patients with lymphedema in Cali, Colombia. She also teaches lymphatic therapy for one of the main lymphedema training programs in the United States.
