"Chipping For Charity!" Mission To Colombia Golf Fundraiser On Friday, Sept. 24th

On Friday, Sept. 24th at the Chestnut Ridge Country Club, 11700 Falls Rd in Lutherville, the "Chipping for Charity! Mission to Colombia Golf Fundraiser" will be held to benefit the Mission to Colombia--an effort to bring much needed medical services to patients in Cali, Colombia, the native home of Mercy surgical oncologist and mission coordinator, Dr. Armando Sardi, Director, Institute for Cancer Care at Mercy.

Registration for this benefit golf tournament begins at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12 noon. Boxed lunch and buffet dinner will be served. Support is sought for this event as a golfer, registering a foursome, or becoming a sponsor. Sponsor levels range from $250 for a Tee to $5,000 to be named Platinum Sponsor.

The goal is to raise $50,000 for the 6th annual mission trip to take place in spring of next year. The monies raised will be used to purchase equipment and medications to provide continued patient care in and around Cali throughout the year. All funds raised go directly to patient care.

Founded in 2005, the Mission to Colombia has helped more than 25,000 patients receive medical care. The next mission is scheduled by March 2011. Approximately 90 medical professionals and other volunteers are signed up to make the trip. Each volunteer pays his or her own travel expenses for the mission. Donations to the Mission to Colombia are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law, thanks to the partnership with the Mercy Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
