Mercy's Dr. Armando Sardi Leads The United Hands For Health "Chipping For Charity" Event On Sept. 16th To Raise Funds For The 7th Annual Mission To Cali, Colombia

Since its founding in 2005, the Mission to Colombia has helped more than 33,000 patients receive medical care. To raise funds for this mission, United Hands for Health presents the 2nd annual “Chipping for Charity” golf event, Friday, Sept. 16th at the Waverly Woods Golf Course, 2100 Warwick Way, in Marriottsville, MD. Registration is at 11 a.m. with a 12 noon “shotgun” start. Captain’s Choice will be the designated choice of play and a boxed lunch and buffet dinner will be served; prizes, raffles and a silent auction will be featured.

“Our mission continues to be to provide high quality health care to the poor. The United Hands for Health is raising funds for our 7th annual mission to Cali, Colombia and the ‘Chipping for Charity’ event is a great way to help out a truly worthy cause,” said Dr. Armando Sardi, President, United Hands for Health Foundation, and Director, The Institute for Cancer Care at Mercy Medical Center (www.mdmercy.com).

Fundraising goal for this event is $50,000, with the monies raised used to purchase equipment and medications to provide continued patient care in and around Cali, Colombia, throughout the year. All funds raised go to patient care as each volunteer pays for his/her own travel expenses for the mission. Donations to the mission are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law (due to 501c3 nonprofit status).

Sponsorship opportunities are available, ranging from $250 for a hole to $10,000 to be named a Platinum Sponsor. To participate, cost is $195 per golfer, $740 for a foursome with $85 tax-deductible.
