Mercy Medical Center Launches “The Cancer Doctors at Mercy” Campaign on WBAL-TV11
Beginning September 2007, Mercy Medical Center will launch its new “Cancer Doctors at Mercy” campaign on WBAL-TV11. WBAL has also been home to Mercy’s “Woman’s Doctor” program for approximately 13 years.
“Each month, Mercy and WBAL-TV11 will explore various cancer issues through the expertise of Mercy’s recognized physicians, oncology experts and surgeons,” said Thomas R. Mullen, president and CEO of Mercy Health Services, Mercy Medical Center.
The program begins with gynecologic oncologists Drs. Neil B. Rosenshein, Director, The Weinberg Center for Women’s Health and Medicine, and Dwight Im, Co-Director of The Gynecologic Oncology Center at Mercy, who will discuss issues relative to ovarian cancer.
September is national Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month.
October – national Breast Cancer Awareness Month – follows with Drs. Bernard W. Chang, Director, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; Neil B. Friedman, Director, The Hoffberger Breast Center and fellow breast surgeon, Dr. Gauri Bedi, to discuss latest approaches relative to breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Surgical oncologists Drs. Armando Sardi and Vadim Gushchin of the Institute for Cancer Care will explore thyroid cancer in November.
Noted radio personality Alan Walden of WBAL1090-AM will provide the voice talent for the informational 60-second segments.
