Christine Vergara, M.D., Joins the Gynecology Center at Mercy, Will Direct Adolescent Gynecology Program
Women’s health specialist Dr. Christine Vergara has joined
The Gynecology Center at Mercy Medical Center, Dr. Neil B. Rosenshein,
Director of The Weinberg Center for Women’s Health and Medicine
at Mercy, has announced.
Dr. Vergara received her medical degree from Louisiana State
University’s Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and completed
her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of
Maryland Medical Center. She is a Junior Fellow of the American
College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is board eligible
in obstetrics and gynecology.
According to Dr. Rosenshein, Dr. Vergara will direct the adolescent
gynecology program, focusing on comprehensive well-women care
and surgical gynecology.
“Dr. Vergara offers women a female’s perspective
and understanding for their gynecologic care. Known for her clinical
expertise and exemplary physician-patient rapport, Dr. Vergara
is a valued new addition to our team at The Gynecology Center
at Mercy,” Dr. Rosenshein said.
She has research experience at the University of Maryland Medical
Center, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive
Services, where she mentored under Dr. Fermin Barrueto, now Chief
of Endoscopy and Pelvic Reconstruction at Mercy. Her areas of
medical interest include gynecologic surgery.
