Worthington Personal Physicians Announces Expansion Plans
Primary Care and Specialty Practice in Reisterstown, MD, to Nearly Double in Size
Worthington Personal Physicians (WPP), an internal medicine/primary and family care group featuring medical specialty services located at 114 Business Center Drive in Reisterstown, MD, has announced plans to expand, increasing nearly 4,000 square feet with construction in the next year.
According to WPP co-medical directors Drs. Robert Moss and Jonathan Kushner, the Worthington Group first opened on Main Street in Reisterstown in 1987.
“We started 22 years ago with just two exam rooms. In 1993, we relocated to our current location and now have 5,400 square feet with 13 exam rooms,” Dr. Moss said.
Dr. Kushner noted that the Worthington group now averages “just under 16,500 patients per year. We’ve kept growing and are set to grow again, nearly doubling in size in 2010,” he said.
WPP offers a variety of primary and specialty care services to families in northwest Baltimore County and Carroll County. The staff includes primary care physicians Drs. Moss, Kushner and Thomas Vento, and certified registered nurse practitioner, Karen Minor, providing internal medicine services for adults and family practice for both adults and children.
“We’re pleased to work with Mercy Medical Center and University of Maryland as we currently have 11 specialists who provide care to patients in a variety of disciplines. In effect, Worthington Personal Physicians provides a ‘one-stop shop’ for families seeking exceptional patient care and clinical excellence,” Dr. Moss said.
Specialists include Mercy physicians Drs. Marisha Newton (Endocrinology), Scott Huber (Gastroenterology), Kevin Audlin (Gynecology), Kamala Littleton (Orthopedics), Mara Vucich and Clayton Dean, (Spine Disorders), Alan Kusakabe (Urology), and Paul Lucas (Vascular Surgery).
Other specialties represented at WPP include General Surgery, Hematology/Oncology, and Cardiology .
WPP offers patients a DEXA scanner for determining bone density issues like osteoporosis; vascular ultrasound; a blood draw lab; and an area for minor procedures like insertion and removal of catheters, stitches for small wounds, etc. The location is easily accessible and features convenient parking.
“Having the primary care and specialists handling patient care together, at the same place, at the same time, benefits patients in terms of both their diagnosis and treatment,” Dr. Moss said.
“We are extremely pleased to be a sponsor of the Worthington primary and specialty care center which provides a tremendous service to the people of this community. Dr. Moss and Dr. Kushner and their colleagues remain committed to excellence, bringing their patients top quality care in a variety of disciplines all in one place,” said Thomas R. Mullen, president and CEO, Mercy Health Services.
