Dr. R. Mark Ellerkmann Joins Mercy's Institute For Gynecologic Care And Serves As Director Of Urogynecology At The Weinberg Center For Women's Health & Medicine At Lutherville

(Lutherville, MD) – R. Mark Ellerkmann, M.D., FACOG, joins Neil B. Rosenshein, M.D., in The Institute for Gynecologic Care at Mercy. Dr. Ellerkmann has been named the Director of the Urogynecology Division, Weinberg Center for Women’s Health and Medicine

Dr. Ellerkmann will see patients at The Weinberg Center for Women’s Health and Medicine at Lutherville, Lutherville Personal Physicians (LPP), 1734 York Road, Dr. George Lowe, LPP Medical Director, and Dr. Neil B. Rosenshein, Weinberg Center Medical Director, have announced.

Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Ellerkmann received his medical degree from the Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, NH and completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine where he served as Administrative Chief Resident. He completed his Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center.

Dr. Ellerkmann has extensive training in minimally invasive, robotic and laparoscopic surgery. He has been involved in clinical research, most specifically regarding urinary incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction.

He previously served as the Chief of the Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery and Associate Residency Program Director at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. He currently is an Assistant Professor, Obstetrics and Gynecology, at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Dr. Ellerkmann has a variety of honors and medical awards to his credit. His professional memberships include the American Medical Association, American Urogynecologic Society, Association of Professor in Gynecology and Obstetrics and the International Urogynecology Association. He has served on the board of the American Urogynecologic Society.
