Discovery Health Teams With Mercy Medical Center To Deliver All New Docu-Series, "NICU"

NICU Airs on Thursdays at 10PM (ET/PT) Beginning July 15, 2010

Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD, along with Discovery Health is pleased to announce the premiere of NICU, an original, 10-episode docu-drama series showcasing the riveting, real-life drama of babies born under extraordinary circumstances. Each year in the United States, more than 500,000 babies are born preterm.

Many of these babies will end up in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for the first part of their fragile lives. Premiering Thursday, July 15, at 10 PM (ET/PT), NICU goes behind the scenes of top national neonatal intensive care units, including Mercy Medical Center, Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital, and UCSD Medical Center, as they work around the clock to ensure the survival of their tiny patients.

In Baltimore, cameras follow Dr. Susan Dulkerian, head of Mercy's NICU. Dr. Dulkerian brings viewers inside Mercy, showcasing the struggles of her tiny patients and their families. The series also features the other skilled doctors at Mercy who provide outstanding and one-of-a-kind care to the small infants in the NICU.

Discovery Health's "NICU" airs weekly throughout the summer on Thursdays at 10 PM (ET/PT) beginning July 15. Discovery Health is available in 80 million homes nationwide on many major cable platforms.

Dr. Dulkerian appeared on the NBC TODAY Show on Monday, July 12th to promote the series. To view the clip, click this link:
