Brendan J. Collins, M.D., Joins Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Mercy
Dr. Brendan J. Collins has joined Dr. Bernard W. Chang, Director, and Dr. Craig Vander Kolk in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Center at Mercy, Dr. Chang has announced.
Dr. Collins joins Mercy after completing a combined Johns Hopkins-University of Maryland fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha honors in 1999. Dr. Collins completed his general surgery internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and is board certified in general surgery.
Dr. Collins performs a wide variety of plastic and reconstructive procedures, including body contouring, breast enhancement, facial aesthetic surgery, and MOHS reconstruction. He is trained in state of the art perforator flap breast reconstruction and has expertise in microsurgery for craniofacial and extremity reconstruction
Dr. Collins is the recipient of a number of medical fellowships and awards, including the George D. Zuidema Research Award from the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. He has a variety of clinical abstracts, publications and international presentations to his credit.
