Mercy Medical Center & Thomas R. Mullen Receive "Hometown Heroes" Award

Thomas R. Mullen (at left), President and CEO of Mercy Health Services, Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore City was honored on Monday, June 16th at the 10th annual American Red Cross, Central Maryland Chapter’s “Hometown Heroes” awards breakfast held at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel. Mr. Mullen and Mercy Medical Center were recognized in the “Healthcare Provider” category for the hospital’s health care services to the Baltimore community and its plans for the new $400 million Mary Catherine Bunting Center – an 18-story, state of the art inpatient facility with 259 beds which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010. Mr. Mullen is shown receiving the award from keynote speaker Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld, III. The “Hometown Heroes” awards serve to honor those who embody the spirit of service to others and give of themselves through commitment, bravery and courage.
