Mercy Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Joseph Ciotola Presents A Free Seminar, "Anterior Hip Replacement Offers Improved Quality Of Life," Sat., May 7th At Mercy
Orthopedic surgeon Joseph Ciotola, M.D., presents a free seminar, “Anterior Hip Replacement Offers Improved Quality of Life,” Saturday, May 7th, 10-11 a.m. in Mercy Medical Center’s McAuley Conference Center, McAuley Plaza, 301 St. Paul Place. Dr. Ciotola specializes in advanced orthopedic techniques that enable patients to experience a faster recovery time and return to normal activities following hip replacement surgery.
Anterior Hip Replacement offers a faster recovery time than other types of hip replacement surgery and is the least invasive approach to replacing the hip since muscle is not detached or cut.
According to Dr. Ciotola, Anterior Hip Replacement offers an alternative option for most patients in need of primary hip replacement.
“There are minimal hip precautions or restrictions following surgery. Patients are typically off of a cane within two weeks and are driving and back to work in five to 10 days,” Dr. Ciotola said. Physicians will work with patients to determine the optimal recovery time.
Seminar attendees can enjoy a hot breakfast and take tours of the new Mary Catherine Bunting Center. Complimentary parking is available in The Bunting Garage at Guilford Avenue and Pleasant Street.
To register, call The Orthopedics and Joint Replacement program at Mercy at 410-332-4955.
