Drs. Bernard W. Chang, Neil B. Friedman, and Charles Edwards, I and II Named 2006 “Health Care Heroes” By The Daily Record

Baltimore, MD – Mercy Medical Center’s Dr. Bernard W. Chang, Dr. Neil B. Friedman and Drs. Charles Edwards, I and II, were recognized on Thursday, March 23rd, 2006 by The Daily Record newspaper as “HEALTH CARE HEROES” at ceremonies held at the Wyndham Inner Harbor Hotel.

Dr. Chang is Director of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Mercy. Dr. Friedman leads the Hoffberger Breast Center. Drs. Edwards are spinal surgeons at the Maryland Spine Center. For more details about these physicians and the centers, visit Mercy online at www.mdmercy.com.

Dr. Chang and Drs. Edwards were honored in the ADVANCEMENTS IN HEALTH CARE category for their work in breast reconstruction (including SGAP, superior gluteal arterial perforator flap, whereby gluteal tissue is used in reconstruction the breast after mastectomy) and for correction of severe spinal deformity, respectively.
