Mercy Gynecologic Oncologist Dr. Dwight Im Receives "Patients' Choice" Award

Gynecologic oncologist Dwight Im, M.D., Director of The Gynecologic Oncology Center at Mercy Medical Center, has been honored by his patients with a Patients’ Choice recognition.

Each month, more than 40,000 patients across the U.S. provide online feedback about their experiences with their doctors at http://www.vitals.com. They rate various components such as bedside manner, doctor-patient face time, degree of follow-up, courtesy of office staff and overall opinions. The “Patients’ Choice” award is tabulated by MDx Medical, Inc.

Of those that receive positive reviews, only physicians like Dr. Dwight Im, with near perfect scores, are voted by their patients for this honor. In fact, of the nation’s 720,000 active physicians, less than 5% were accorded this honor by their patients last year.

Notation of this distinction is shared with a number of websites including Vitals.com, RightHealth.com, Google.com and a variety of managed care sites which, in total, are viewed by more than 150,000 people on a daily basis.

A graduate of Princeton University, Dr. Im completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and fellowship at Hopkins under Neil B. Rosenshein, M.D., Director of nationally acclaimed Weinberg Center for Women’s Health and Medicine at Mercy.

Dr. Im is board certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has made numerous professional presentations on topics such as cervical and ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, vaginal lesions, even breast cancer. Dr. Im has had many clinical articles and chapters published on such subjects as ultrasonic surgical techniques, primary lymphoma of the ovary and other issues relative to reproductive cancers. His interests include pelvic surgery and treating HPV.

Dr. Im serves as a reviewer for Gynecologic Oncology and for Obstetrics and Gynecology.
