Mercy's Supportive Housing Program Hosts Event Led By Youth Members Of Destination Imagination

Mercy's Supportive Housing Program will host a special event on Saturday, Feb. 11th, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., for those endeavoring to secure permanent housing and leave shelters/the streets. The Supportive Housing program is designed to help the homeless and underserved secure housing and prevent eviction through a variety of government and private funding sources.

To be held in Mercy's McAuley Conference Center, main floor, McAuley Plaza, 301 St. Paul Place, the event is being led by five youths from the Destination Imagination academic program in Anne Arundel County (South River High School).

More than 100 clients of the Supportive Housing program are expected to gather in the McAuley Conference Center, along with Supportive Housing counselors and representatives of organizations providing resume writing and job interview assistance to parents; children will enjoy ice cream sundaes and receive school supplies/bags appropriate for students pre-school to high school. The bags are assembled by the five DI program members.
