Contributing to Mercy: Volunteering at Mercy

If you have a day a week - or even a half-day a week - which you would like to fill with a worthwhile experience, Mercy Medical Center has something just for you. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available to meet your needs, Mercy's needs, and most of all, our patients' needs.

Mercy Medical Center is a very special place. Patients receive outstanding clinical care, always delivered with a compassionate touch that reflects Mercy Medical Center’s core values of hospitality and service excellence. Hospital staff members, representing many professions and positions, are dedicated to ensuring all aspects of a patient’s experience are positive.

Mercy Medical Center is truly blessed to have a corps of volunteers who assist in many programs and departments, ultimately supporting Mercy's mission.  Volunteers contribute in clinical and non-clinical areas throughout the campus.

Volunteers fill many roles. They may assist with clerical tasks or provide hospitality to patients and visitors. Their assistance is truly appreciated by staff; however, it is the patients and their families that ultimately benefit from volunteer contributions of time and talent.

There is no paycheck at the end of the week, but there are plenty of smiles and sincere thank yous that let you know just how much your efforts are appreciated.

Free parking is provided in a convenient and secure parking garage and volunteers receive a meal stipend for use in the hospital cafeterias.

If you are interested in a volunteer experience at a truly exceptional hospital, there are a variety of worthwhile opportunities available at Mercy.  For more information call 410-332-9227 or TTY 410-332-9888 and the volunteer staff will gladly assist you.
