Stanley B. Silber, M.D.
Stanley B. Silber, M.D., Chief, Department of Urology, received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School. He completed his General Surgery internship and Urology residency at the University of Maryland.
Board Certified, Dr. Silber is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Baltimore City Medical Society, Maryland Medical and Chirurgical Faculty, American Urological Association, and Maryland Urologic Society. He is a former flight surgeon in the United States Air Force.
Ira E. Hantman, M.D.
Ira E. Hantman, M.D., received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he was presented the A. Bradley Gaither Urology Award. He completed his General Surgery and Urology residencies at the University of Maryland Hospital. Dr. Hantman completed a Pediatric Urology Fellowship and received a Business of Medicine Degree from the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Board Certified by the American Board of Urology and National Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Hantman has been President of the Medical Staff at Mercy Medical Center. He is a member of the Baltimore City Medical Society, Medical Surgical Society of Maryland, American Urological Association, Maryland Urological Association, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Alan Kusakabe, M.D.
Alan Kusakabe, M.D., offers comprehensive urologic procedures as well as minimally invasive and robotic surgery for renal and prostate disease.
A Wesleyan University graduate, Dr. Kusakabe received his medical degree from the SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York, where he graduated Cum Laude. He completed his residencies in General Surgery and Urology at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Dr. Kusakabe is a member of the Endourological Society and a candidate member of the American Urologic Association. He is a published author and has a number of clinical publications, presentations, and honors to his credit.
Robert A. Thompson, Jr., M.D.
Robert A. Thompson, Jr., M.D., provides minimally invasive and robotic surgical options for patients who have been diagnosed with prostate disease.
He received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship and residency at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Urology residency at University of Maryland Hospital, and Pediatric Urology Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Board Certified, Dr. Thompson is a member of the American Medical Association, American Urological Association, Baltimore City Medical Society, Maryland Urologic Association, and University of Maryland Surgical Society. He is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomat of the American Board of Urology. Dr. Thompson is an instructor of surgery at the University of Maryland and has numerous publications to his credit on such topics as prostate and bladder cancer.
Ralph Garrett, P.A.-C
Ralph Garrett, P.A-C, is the Senior Physicians Assistant for Urology. Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants, he has been practicing for 32 years. Ralph received his B.S. / Physician Assistant Certificate from the Towson / Essex Program in Baltimore.
Kara R. Capandonis, P.A.-C
Kara R. Capandonis, P.A.-C, received her Physician Assistant B.S. degree from The State University of New York at Stony Brook, NY. Prior to becoming a physician assistant, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in New York and Georgia. Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, she is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants.
Donald S. Diefendorf, P.A.-C
Donald S. Diefendorf, P.A.-C., received his Physician Assistant Certificate from Essex Community College in Baltimore. In addition, he holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from Washington College in Chestertown, MD. Donald is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants.
