Armando Sardi, M.D., internationally renowned surgical oncologist, serves as the director of The Institute for Cancer Care at Mercy as well as the Director of the Institute’s Surgical Oncology Division. He is widely regarded for his training and skills in utilizing Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC), an advanced technique for treating late-stage, complex cancers of the abdominal region. Dr. Sardi additionally serves as a clinical investigator for the National Cancer Institute and is committed to conducting vital research leading to breakthroughs in the aggressive management of complex cancers. Dr. Sardi has numerous publications to his credit. He also has lectured on a national and international platform, educating and training physicians on the latest advances in the treatment of a variety of late-stage cancers. Dr. Sardi is Board Certified in General Surgery and completed fellowship training in Surgical Oncology at Ohio State University Hospital, where he received a research grant from the American Cancer Society. He received his medical degree from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia.
Dr. Sardi has been named by Baltimore Magazine a "Top Doctor" in the Surgical Oncology specialty.
