Dr. Maria Jacobs, Director of Radiation Oncology at Mercy Medical Center, has numerous major research interests including:

  • Brachytherapy in gynecologic tumors
  • Chemo-radiation for advanced head and neck cancers and gynecologic tumors
  • Intraoperative radiotherapy
  • Chemoprevention of cancer
  • Breast Cancer

Dr. Jacobs currently serves as an abstract reviewer for the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology. She has authored a book chapter in partnership with Dr. Deborah Frassica, Johns Hopkins radiation oncologist, entitled, Multiple Myeloma and Related Disorders (edited Gosta Gharton, Brian G.M.
